Ten years ago Daniel Blackland destroyed the Hierarch of Southern California and fled, taking Sam, a golem created from the late Hierarch’s magic, with him. They’ve been on the run ever since. Daniel is determined to protect Sam and teach him magic, but all Sam wants is a chance for a normal life; to attend school or meet a girl.
To make matters worse, back in LA someone is building a Pacific firedrake, an ultimate weapon of mass magical destruction. When Daniel is incapacitated, it is up to Sam to try to stop them.
