Author James Herriot

Born on October 3, 1916 JAMES HERRIOT was a veterinarian in Yorkshire, England, for more than fifty years until his death in 1995. His bestselling memoirs include All Things Bright and BeautifulAll Things Wise and WonderfulThe Lord God Made Them All, and Every Living Thing. At twenty-three, he qualified for veterinary practice with the Glasgow Veterinary College, and moved to the town of Thirsk. He would live in and write about the region for the rest of his life.
